China vs Saudi Arabia Prediction & Tips
Saudi Arabia have a great opportunity to secure their place at the Qatar 2022 World Cup when they take to the field at Sharjah Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday in the penultimate matchday of Group B of the Asian World Cup Qualifiers to face an already eliminated China side.
The team coached by Li Xiaopeng have not performed well in this last and third stage of the Asian World Cup Qualifiers leading to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and so the Dragon’s Team is in the penultimate place in their group, with just five points from eight games, without any chance of reaching at least the third place that leads to a final playoff.
China have just lost 3-1 away to Vietnam in what was not only their second consecutive defeat, but also their fifth game without a win in these World Cup Qualifiers, but this Thursday they will be looking to close their home game with a good result and avenge their 3-2 loss to Saudi Arabia in the first leg of the Third Stage. The game is in the United Arab Emirates.
For their part, the team coached by Frenchman Hervé Renard suffered their first defeat of the World Cup qualifiers when they lost 2-0 away to Japan, and although they remain at the top of their group, the Green Falcons have to be careful as third-placed Australia are only four points behind.
Saudi Arabia must get back to winning ways, and note that before the loss to the Japanese, the Green Falcons had gone sixteen consecutive games without defeat in World Cup qualifying, winning thirteen of them.
Moreover, that loss to Japan was the first in their last eight away games in World Cup Qualifiers, and they will be looking to maintain that consistency against a China side against whom they have lost just one of their last six games in all competitions, winning four of them.
This Thursday the Saudi Arabian national team has a great opportunity to secure their qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup and to do so they need to beat a Chinese national football team that is not in a good moment, to the point that they have not won in five games.
The game could be complicated for the Green Falcons because the Dragons will want to show themselves in these last two days of World Cup Qualifiers, but the fact that they are not home, added to the fact that they have had a hard time beating Saudi Arabia in their direct games, makes the scales tip in favour of the “visit”. So here we go for Saudi Arabia to win.
