Celta Vigo vs Rayo Vallecano Prediction & Tips
RC Celta Vigo have not won three straight games in LaLiga EA Sports (LL) since May 2021, but can do so against Rayo Vallecano after beating Real Sociedad 1-0 on Tuesday. With the three points in San Sebastian, Los Celestes have secured seventh place, and a win against Rayo would secure their place in the Europa League 2025-26 league phase.
Celta’s recent record against Rayo casts doubt on their chances of getting the win they need, having won just two of their last ten meetings with the Vallecano (G2, E5, P3), four of which ended 0-0. Celta’s record at Balaídos improves considerably; they have not lost any of their previous six home games against Rayo (G4, E2), and Claudio Giráldez’s side have won five of their last seven home games (G5, E1, P1).
For their part, Rayo Vallecano remain in eighth place (Conference League), albeit level on 48 points with Osasuna after squandering a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Real Betis (6th) at Vallecas on Thursday. The draw may have come as something of a disappointment for Íñigo Pérez’s side, but they have taken seven points from a possible nine so far in May, a record that keeps their chances of a first European competition in 25 years very much alive.
