Celje vs Fiorentina Prediction & Tips
Celje has recently reached its peak. In 2020, it won the Slovenian championship for the first time. And last spring they managed to repeat this result. Now it is clear that they will not be able to retain the title, as the gap to the current leader has reached a dozen and a half points.
The club has no choice but to focus on the conference league. They started, of course, in the Champions League, but after passing ‘Flora’, they lost to ‘Slovan’ after a 0-5 defeat in Bratislava. In the Europa League, they narrowly beat ‘Shamrock Rovers’ at home, but then lost 1-3 in Ireland. But at least in this tournament they eliminated ‘Pyunik’ in the qualification, scored seven points in the main stage, and in 2025, in the playoffs, the Slovenians eliminated consecutively APOEL and, on penalties, ‘Lugano’.
Fiorentina under former coach Vincenzo Italiano finished eighth in Serie A in both 2023 and 2024. Before the start of the new season, Rafaele Palladino became the new coach. But even with him, the results in mid-spring are roughly the same.
The Italians, moreover, twice reached the final of the two previous editions of the Conference League. This time they almost stumbled in qualifying, only eliminating the ‘Puskás Academy’ on penalties after a couple of draws. However, they went on to score thirteen points in the main round, which allowed them to advance directly to the round of 16. And there, in a close encounter, they overcame ‘Panathinaikos’ – 2-3 and 3-1.
