In midweek, the Blues beat Tottenham at home to return to the top four. Newcastle have a game in hand and, if successful, will move Chelsea into fifth place. Nor does the schedule inspire confidence, as they will have to finish the season facing the Magpies, Liverpool, Man United and Nottingham.
