Braunschweig vs Paderborn Prediction & Tips
Braunschweig were even national champions, although that was in 1967. But that was a long time ago, and already since the mid-80s they only managed to play once more in Bundesliga 1, in the 2013/2014 season. However, they have spent quite some time in the third division, even recently, returning from there once more in 2022. And twice after that they ended up on the ‘border’, in fifteenth position in the 2. Bundesliga.
Now they are involved in the now familiar struggle for survival. And the prospects in this one are not particularly optimistic. They won twice at the beginning of February, then the club could only hold on to draws. So it was on the last matchday against ‘Preußen’, ending 1-1.
Paderborn in general has less prestige in terms of their achievements than their opponents. But on the other hand, their main successes have come recently. In 2014/2015 and 2019/2020 they tried to prove themselves in Bundesliga 1. However, both attempts were practically disastrous and ended with relegation from eighteenth, last place. After that, in the last seasons they finished in the upper part of the table, but without aspirations to fight for something more, at least in the playoffs.
Now it looks like they can take a qualitative step forward. They still have every chance to overtake the favourites, ‘Hamburg’ and/or ‘Cologne’. They played with the latter last matchday. However, they lost 1-2.
