Bradford City finally debuted in the Premier League at the turn of the last century. However, it was unable to stay there and over the next decade was gradually relegated to League 2 level. They still managed to get out of it, but did not stay in the third division for long. They are now a mid-table team, finishing ninth in the final table last season.

Colchester United A couple of decades ago, the club suddenly jumped into the Championship. But, unsurprisingly, it did not stay there. The results kept falling. And after losing their place in League 1, they almost found themselves in 2024 in the Conference. They were lucky that, even at 22nd (out of 24), they still remained in the current division.
But it was clear that they needed to improve, and they did. Since mid-winter, Danny Cowley’s side have been showing the stats of a promotion contender, winning quite often. But that was enough just to consolidate themselves at the top of the table, although there is still time. Especially as the 3-0 win over Fleetwood Town was their fifth consecutive victory.
