Benfica vs Nacional Prediction & Tips
Four consecutive victories have put Benfica just three points behind leaders Sporting Lisbon. And yet the ‘eagles’ have a game in hand. Before facing Barcelona, they should have no problem overcoming Nacional Madeira, who are fighting to stay out of the promotion zone.
Benfica have just lost 0-1 to Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League and next Wednesday they will have their revenge. As they remain firmly in the fight for the league title, coach Bruno Lage cannot afford the luxury of keeping starters out of the starting line-up. They have strengthened their squad in the winter transfer window with attackers Bruma and Andrea Belotti, who have both scored in the last two games.
Nacional Madeira, meanwhile, are just four points away from the relegation zone. Their recent irregularity has not allowed them to get closer to the mid-table. This year, however, they have made life difficult for visiting Braga and Sporting Lisbon, who ended up winning narrowly.
