Alaves vs Real Sociedad Prediction & Tips
Wednesday sees an interesting Basque derby between Deportivo Alavés and Real Sociedad, two sides coming into the game on the back of draws this weekend.
The Babazorro side earned a valuable point at the Sánchez Pizjuán against Sevilla in the return of Joaquín Caparrós to the Sevilla bench. Real Sociedad, meanwhile, also away from La Liga, earned a draw at La Cerámica in a game where Villarreal were very angry with the refereeing and the VAR.
Taking these results into the standings, we see Alavés in relegation, one point away from salvation. Real Sociedad are ninth in the table, just two points behind seventh.
Nothing has been decided yet in La Liga. The most certain thing is Valladolid’s relegation, but everything else is still up in the air. In the relegation zone, from Leganés (penultimate) to Girona (17th) there are only five points. In between, Alavés, who have been doing well in recent weeks, but who, like Las Palmas, Valencia and Espanyol, have gone straight to the top of the table.
