AFC Wimbledon vs Barrow Prediction & Tips
Wimbledon has a rather glorious history, but with one important caveat. All memorable successes, including the conquered trophy, were achieved by ‘Wimbledon’ which now continues to exist as ‘MK Dons’. But the fans were not satisfied with that and in 2002 they launched a new project. It quickly grew from amateur level to League 1, where it was promoted in 2016. But at the beginning of the new decade it lost its place there. And last season they finished only tenth in England’s fourth tier.
In the new season, Johnny Jackson’s charges have been able to improve markedly. They are seriously aiming for promotion. However, it is already unlikely that they will be promoted directly to League 1, especially since they started with a couple of defeats in March. But they beat Notts County. And after the defeat against ‘Cheltenham’, they achieved the maximum with ‘Carlisle United’.
Barrow has been progressing steadily, albeit unsteadily, over the last decades. At the turn of the century it was playing in the sixth tier, then promoted first to the Conference, and a couple of years ago it was already in League 2. There it managed to consolidate itself. And last season the team scored 69 points, just outside the playoff zone, finishing eighth.
Now, Andy Wing’s charges, who took over as coach in January, are at least trying to avoid total failure. And with him, things have started to work out, and in March, after three consecutive defeats, they managed to beat Notts County and Accrington. And with ‘Morecambe’ they drew 2-2.
