However, the Vecchia Signora bounced back well with a 2-0 win over Benfica in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) midweek. The Bianconeri start the day three points off the top four in Serie A, but they are unbeaten at home since March (13 wins and 6 draws). They will be confident of maintaining that form, especially as they have won two of their last three league games at home against teams currently in the top four (1 draw).
Napoli are unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions (5 wins and 4 draws), but four draws in their last five games have slowed their progress in both the league and Europe. The 1-1 draw away to ten-man Copenhagen left the Partenopei out of the UEFA Champions League play-off places, while they start the weekend six points off the top despite a 1-0 win over Sassuolo last time out. The injury list continues to grow, which does not help Antonio Conte’s team, which has been struggling away from home for some time: they have won only four of their last 13 official away games (2 draws and 7 defeats), and have already lost twice as many away games in Serie A this season (4) as in the entire previous campaign (2).
