VfL Wolfsburg wants to take the next step out of its crisis. On Sunday (2 November), the Kraichgauers will face Hoffenheim at home at 5.30 p.m. The Wolves have lost only one of their last seven direct duels. In 13 of the last 15 matches, both teams scored. After four consecutive defeats (0-1 against Dortmund and Leipzig, 1-3 against Augsburg and 0-3 against Stuttgart), Wolfsburg finally won again a few days ago with a 1-0 victory at HSV.
It was also the first time that the defence managed to keep a clean sheet. The club is still looking for a home win this season. Hoffenheim has experienced an upward trend in the Bundesliga. Wolfsburg lost 1-0 to Kiel, while Hoffenheim were knocked out by St. Pauli on penalties. The Lower Saxony side have scored just two goals in their last six competitive games. With three wins and a draw, TSG’s away record looks very strong, which makes their cup exit all the more incomprehensible. Incidentally, Hoffenheim have never kept a clean sheet at the VW Arena.
