Getafe is one of the teams at the bottom of the La Liga table this season. But thanks to a series of successful results at the end of 2024, at the beginning of 2025 Pepe Bordalás’ team managed to distance themselves from the relegation zone by 6 points. Currently, the club from the Madrid suburb is in 13th place, a comfortable enough lead to secure their place in La Liga for next season.

In the previous round of La Liga, Atletico managed to beat the fourth team in La Liga – Athletic Bilbao – by the narrowest of margins. Before that, Simeone’s team beat Valencia (3-0) and drew with Celta (1-1).
Atlético continues its struggle in other tournaments as well. In the first match of the semi-final of the Copa del Rey, the ‘colchoneros’ drew incredibly 4-4 against Barcelona, and in the first match of the round of 16 of the Champions League they lost 1-2 against Real Madrid. Among all the teams in Europe, Atlético currently faces the toughest schedule.
