Andorra – Kosovo (Pick, Prediction, Preview) Preview

Andorra vs Kosovo Prediction & Tips

Mathematically speaking, last-place Andorra still has a slim chance of reaching its first major tournament. But even if they win this upcoming match against Kosovo, it will almost certainly be another unsuccessful campaign for the tiny microstate, which has tasted victory only once in a Euro qualifier in 66 previous matches (E3, P62), although that one win came relatively recently, four years ago against Moldova.

They drew their last home game (0-0 against Belarus) in this competition and the Andorran defense in general has held up much better than in previous qualifying campaigns. Still without conceding more than three goals in a match, coach Koldo Alvarez and his team are on track to record just their second qualifying campaign, whether for the EURO or the FIFA World Cup, in matches where the difference on the scoreboard with the opposition is three goals or less since Alvarez himself was in goal for the Tricolores during the EURO 2004 qualifiers.
The situation is equally precarious for Kosovo, who find themselves just one place and two points above Andorra and know that nothing less than a win will realistically be necessary if they are to maintain their hopes of reaching their first European Championship. Despite failing to beat their next opponents in their previous match in March, Kosovo will have a good chance of picking up three points at the National Stadium, where the hosts have failed to win any of their last four games (E2, P2).

Should Kosovo emerge victorious, it would be just their second away win in Euro qualification history, having memorably beaten Bulgaria 3-2 in the summer of 2019. However, the Balkan nation has not picked up a win in any format since September 2022 (E6, P2), nor could they win any of their last five qualifiers in any competition they played away from home.
Players to watch: Young Albert Rosas has scored two of Andorra’s three goals in Euro 2024 Qualifying so far, including the goal to earn the country’s only draw of this qualifying campaign in Kosovo. Edon Zhegrova scored the opening goal for the hosts that day and will be looking to continue his recent good form at club level, having directly contributed a goal in each of his last two games for Lille (one goal, one assist).
Key stat: Ten of the last 11 goals scored by Kosovo have come in the second half.
