Greuther Furth – Hertha Berlin (Pick, Prediction, Preview) Preview

Greuther Furth vs Hertha Berlin Prediction & Tips

Just as the bottom side of the Bundesliga was gathering steam, Greuther Fürth’s four-match unbeaten run (G1, D3) was brought to a halt with a 4-1 loss to Wolfsburg last weekend – Fürth’s 12th loss in the Bundesliga (out of 15 in total) which saw him lose by a multi-goal margin. Now 12 points from salvation, the odds remain firm against Fürth with just 39 points up for grabs. All is not lost, however, and you can take inspiration from the closest club to the relegation zone, Arminia Bielefeld, whose 1980/81 team emerged from almost the same situation as Fürth.

However, that Bielefeld team also recorded seven wins from Matchday 22 onwards. So if Fürth want to pull off a miracle, they must surely extend their unbeaten run of four home games (G2, D2) with a win against Hertha Berlin, and avenge the 2-1 loss in the season opener between both teams in the process.
Just a point above the relegation zone, Hertha also have a reason to play, although after winning the first game of the season between these clubs despite conceding the first goal, they are unlikely to feel their best at this trip to Bavaria. However, they may not be so lucky if they start on the wrong foot this time around, as the capital club have lost five of the six Bundesliga away games in which they conceded the first goal (E1).

If Hertha want to avoid “celebrating” their 130th anniversary with relegation, use Fürth as an opportunity to end their run of five winless away games in the Bundesliga (E2, P3) and pick up points before their tough next few games. commitments against RB Leipzig and Freiburg seem crucial.
Players to watch: Jeremy Dudziak opened the scoring in Fürth’s last home game – one of only two first-half goals he has scored this season. Stevan Jovetić provided an assist last weekend in his first start since injury, and he now hopes to continue adding to the four times he has opened the scoring for Hertha this season.
Featured fact: Fürth’s last three games and Hertha’s last three have seen their first goal scored within the first 25 minutes.
