Iceland vs Albania Prediction & Tips

After their defeat against France on the second day (4-0),Iceland (# 40 in the FIFA ranking) hosts Albania (# 62) in Reykjavik, which will be the first official match between these two teams from the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Iceland won the two games against Albania in that campaign by 2-1.
Despite having enjoyed great success in this decade to become the smallest nation (according to total population) that participated in a final phase of a World Cup, as well as the smallest to reach the quarterfinals of the Eurocopa in 2016, Iceland has stalled recently, winning only one of their last 17 matches (all competitions and including friendlies – G1, E6, P10). It should be noted that Iceland received at least two goals against in 82.35% of those games (2.29 on average per game), including in each of their defeats.
A team that does not stand out for being very effective, Albania has not even managed to score in five of its last seven games (G2, E1, P4). In addition, they could not register a goal as a visitor in their recent UEFA Nations League campaign, losing both games by a score of 2-0.
Although the visiting team beat Turkey (which has a similar ranking of # 39) away from home in a friendly, has not defeated another team similar to Iceland in visitor status but in official matches with the exception of Serbia (# 29) in his last qualifying campaign for the Euro – curiously that victory was also on the third day (E1, P3 since then).
Players to watch: By far the most valuable player in Iceland, Gylfi Sigurðsson has just enjoyed his best season in the Premier League with 13 goals – he scored four of them from outside the box.
Armando Sadiku scored the first goal in his most recent match both at the club level and at the national team level.
Statistics to consider: Iceland failed to win five of the last six games in which it took advantage (G1, E4, P1).
Iceland has won three of four official clashes with each other – in each win scored exactly two goals.
Ten of the last 11 Albania matches ended or with goals from a single team, or no goals.
