Betis – Levante (Pick, Prediction, Preview) Preview

Betis vs Levante Prediction & Tips

Despite their 1-0 defeat to Sevilla, Real Betis continues to occupy the sixth position in LaLiga Santander (LL), although now with only two points of advantage. In what was the 100th Sevillian derby in the First Division, the Verdiblancos missed the opportunity to link five victories in the top flight for the first time since March-April 2018. Manuel Pellegrini’s team has reached the break with the unfavorable score in the last two days.
Betis have reached the European zone thanks in part to a record of five wins by one goal difference in their last seven LL games at home. However, the Verdiblanca squad has not yet beaten any club in its fiefdom that finished last day in the upper half of the table (E2, P3), and this despite having seen the door in four of those five games.

In stark contrast to their host, Levante ended the first half 1-0 in favor in three of their last four league games. The Granotas registered one of those minimal advantages at halftime in the second of their two away victories over the two Madrid giants in 2021, increasing to 50% – well above the average – their percentage of victories or draws without having condition of away favorites in the current championship (G3, E3, P6).

Following their 4-3 win over Betis in the first round clash, Levante can achieve their second league double against the Andalusian club in the last three seasons. There has been no lack of action on the goals in recent clashes between these teams: there have been at least three goals in six of their last seven official meetings, and five of them have had more than 3.5 goals. We are, therefore, before a potential scoring festival.
Players to watch: In four of Betis’ seven previous LL games, Borja Iglesias has opened the Verdiblanca scoring account. Although they are not favorites in this Friday’s clash, Levante has gunmen who may well assault Benito Villamarín, as is the case with Roger Martí. The Valencian forward has seen the door in ten LL games this season (11 goals), including the fourth Granota goal (min 55) in the 4-3 endorsed by Betis.
Highlight data: the first scorer has finished adding the three points in only 40.74% (W11, E11, P5) of the 27 games played by Levante in the current championship.
