In the first leg, the race ended 1-0 for Dinamo Zagreb: to overcome the round Benfica had to win with two goals difference without suffering.
With the 1-0 obviously we go to extra time, but if the Croats were able to score then the Portuguese would need at least three goals to get through.
It is also true, however, that in the previous round Dinamo Zagreb came out defeated on the field by Viktoria Plzen (2-1), overturning everything when they returned (1-0).
In the round of 32 in the second leg in PortugalBenfica did not go beyond the 0-0 draw against Galatasaray, but had won in Turkey (0-1).
These two teams are both first in the standings in their respective championships, with Benfica having recently regained the top by winning at home the bitter rivals of Porto.
The Benfica field is difficult for everyone and probably it will be for a team that is not too used to big stages like Dinamo Zagreb. We do not know if in the end the Eagles will qualify, but we are still focusing on the victory of the hosts.
